INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIONS
 

Department of Banking and Finance at Eastern Mediterranean University  has collaboration agreements with a number of distinguished educational institutions around the world. These international collaborations create an opportunity for our students to receive professional finance designations and certificates while they are completing their masters degree at EMU. 

AICB Designation in Banking: The EMU On-line Executive Masters Program participants have an option to earn the Associate of the Institute of Canadian Banker (AICB) professional designation. The participants who take 3 elective courses on-line from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI) can obtain the professional designation, AICB, in addition to their MS degree in Banking and Finance from EMU.   

Canadian Securities Course (CSC) EMU on-line Executive Masters Program  participants have an option to become licensed to work  within the Canadian securities industry as a securities dealer or securities agent by taking the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) online from the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI). The CSC consists of two exams and must be completed within 1 year of registration in the course. Successful completion of this course counts as two elective courses for the EMU On-line Executive Masters Program in Banking and Finance. 

Personal Financial Planner (PFP) EMU on-line Executive Masters Program participants can prepare themselves to write the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) examination by successfully completing  the Canadian Securities Course (CSC),  Financial Planning I (FP I) and Financial Planning II (FP II) courses.  These CSI courses while prepares and qualifies the program participants to write the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) examination, they also count as 4 elective courses in the curriculum of the EMU On-line Executive Masters Program. 

Queen’s University Certificate: The Department of Banking and Finance at Eastern Mediterranean University has an agreement with the John Deutsch International Executive Programs of Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada that enable graduate students of EMU to earn the Queen’s University Certificate in Investment Appraisal and Risk Analysis.  This is a renowned professional certificate in the area of investment appraisal that graduate students can obtain while studying at Eastern Mediterranean University. By taking three courses from the discipline of investment appraisal at EMU, students qualify to take the Queen’s University comprehensive examination in this field and if successful, then are awarded this professional certification.
